Ein Weihnachtsgeschenk nicht nur für Fans von Joni Mitchell: 50 Jahre nach seiner Veröffentlichung hat ihr Song „River“ ein offizielles Musikvideo bekommen. Der in Schwarz-Weiß animierte Kurzfilm wurde auf dem offiziellen YouTube-Kanal der Sängerin veröffentlicht. In dem Video wird die von Joni Mitchell (78) gesungene Geschichte digital nachgezeichnet.
„River“ drückt das Bedauern über das Ende einer Beziehung aus«, heißt es in einem Zitat von Mitchell, das am Ende des Videos eingeblendet wird. Aber es gehe auch um Menschen, die in der Weihnachtszeit einsam sind.
